I'm back from Redang! =)
Redang was good - the white sand, clear blue waters and the humongous sun. Great spot to teh, snorkel and suntan.
2 days of snorkelling. First day of snorkelling was exhausting. Big waves just keep coming in, sweeping us back when we're trying to go forward. But we still see fishes & corals. Some of the gals got dragged around with the help of our flipper guides. Oh ya, tourists arent allowed to wear flippers in case of doing any damage to the corals. And we ended our snorkelling activity by building our own 'mermad'! That's cool, too bad we dun hav any camera with us. Day 2 was so much better! This time, we went to Marine Park for snorkelling. That place was more populated, but it was so much easier to snorkel. It's really so relaxing, swimming around with the fishes and feeding them. This time round, managed to see baby sharks & baby turtles! No sight of dolphins though.
Besides snorkelling (the usual activity), we did night trekking! Our guide wanted to show us the 'blue sand phenomena'. So he took us to climb rocks to get to the other side of the beach, where we board the speedboat and went over to another resort. There, the enthu malays keep pestering us to disco n party lar. We did for a short while, but the dancefloor lights were so damn blinding. Then he took us to see the blue sand! And its real. You'll see some of the sand particles glittering in blue.
For the rest of the time, what we all did there was beach vball, suntanning, endless rounds of asshole daidee, indian poker, bridge and mahjong! The night before we went back to s'pore, we played asshole daidee till 3am! Not forgetting the extra companion we got when the moth flew into the room. So many of them freaked out, huh. What a funny sight, if only i was fast enough to capture that moment. Hehe.
Its a short and wonderful getaway before sch starts. Though the food and lodging wasnt up to our expectations, we make do with it and still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly! Wonderful guides (though they cant be trusted at times), great company!
An alternate and unforgettable experience.Pictures are up in my friendster. =)
